SPORT FACILITIES
The Walker Ground is focused on its purpose and future as a sporting venue available for the local community. The Ground is a multi-sport environment where you can enjoy a variety of sports, including cricket, football, hockey, netball, squash, racketball, rugby, and tennis.
Our clubs welcome new players and we are also keen to welcome spectators to watch the excellent standard of sport played at the Ground. Our clubs and some of our players compete at Premiership/County/National level whilst all our clubs cater for all levels of ability.

Sports at The Walker Ground - A Timeline
1855 Walker brothers re-turfed Chapel Fields and arrange cricket matches
1859 Middlesex County Cricket Team formed by the Walker brothers
1864 Middlesex County Cricket Club founded
1877 English Test Cricket started
1886 Southgate Hockey Club formed
1907 Chapel Fields renamed The Walker Cricket Ground
1935 The Pavilion is built
1975 Squash Club founded
1997 Junior Football starts at the ground.
1988 Middlesex County Cricket Club returned to the ground for matches
(Mike Gatting and Justin Langer made a record first wicket partnership for the county with 368)
2015 Racketball becomes as popular as Squash at the ground.
